Below are two robot-based articles; the second one is in many ways more profound and relevant to the course, but the first is interesting in that it's one man's application of robotics for an every-day problem (though perhaps the morality is debatable).

Evolution of communication is a big topic in robotics these days. We had an
honors thesis here last year on that topic.
Alex used our Khepera-II 'bots to evolve communication. I'm working on getting the Kheperas going with Python/Bluetooth, so let me know if you want to pursue this further!
